Weekend Casual

What to wear on the weekends – I usually go from one extreme (the covered in baby food/workout/homeless look) to another (full makeup/wedding/event ready). For the occasional brunch with friends, I take a stab at decent but definitely not willing to sacrifice comfort.

That’s where this top comes in handy. The thin jersey fabric mimics you’re most worn-in t-shirt, and the sleeves remind me of both the ruffled t-shirts I use to wear as a 90’s kid and a mariachi band. The latter makes me feel pretty dang festive.

If I’m really going fancy-pants, I’ll throw on my trusty, no-brainer espadrilles (also fondly referred to as  day wedges  in college…) and some fun earrings. And maybe a denim skirt – because why the heck not? As long as it’s not frayed and from Abercrombie&Fitch, it’s OK in my book. Now, only 5 more days until the weekend again. Enjoy, friends!

Tonal Tassels

Tassels tassels tassels. Suddenly, I’ve noticed tassels everywhere, and on everything. Unintentionally, every time I purchase anything with a tassel it’s usually neon or some seriously saturated color.

In my head, tassels = fun, fun = color – right?

I’ve made a point to stick to my neutral roots and find some more practical fun. What do you think? Are tassels made for color?

Wedding Guesting

I love weddings. Families merging together all in the company of great friends, excellent dancing tunes, and endless champagne.

My top priority when dressing for a wedding is comfort – are you surprised? There’s nothing worse than wasting time worrying about your outfit – is it too short, too small, too low, too thin – no one has time for that, especially on the dance floor.

This spring I’ve been searching for festive, no fuss looks that are versatile enough to wear over and over again #weddingseason. This blue scuba skirt has been in my closet for a few years now, and I’ve loved the endless number of options it provides. Separates are a great bang for your buck, in my opinion. Here’s a current lineup of my favorite stressless dresses and seperates:
