Recently, I read an article in Real Simple magazine about the art of closet cleaning. In it, clutter experts challenged readers to go a week wearing only a selective few pieces in their closet. The responses are what amazed me – readers felt more confident, calmer and happier about their clothes than before! This got me thinking: in light of this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale madness – could I go a week in only 10 items? After a few challenging tries, I have come up with 10 pieces worked into a weekly schedule.
These items (7 of which are under $100!! at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale) are versatile enough to go with 95% of your existing closet, or you can mix them up for a week like I have here!

A little Americana inspo for your holiday weekend, because who doesn’t love the classic red, white and blue for your lake trip or backyard bbq?!
One of my friends wore #1 last weekend on our girls trip, and I’m prettttttttty obsessed – it’s the perfect red. I’ve also had #5 has been on my heavy rotation lately, as it miraculously goes with everything I wear #neutralsalldayeveryday. And can you believe #4 is ONLY $52!? Ideal to throw on over your b-suit for that late dusky dinner. See more of my ‘merica favorites:
Seaside, Florida – also fondly referred to as hwy 30A – is our happy place.
As our first trip since Jack was born, and first vacation as a family of 3, I guess you could say we were down right giddy for a weekend at the beach. Nick grew up vacationing in Seaside, so it’s only fitting we create a new tradition of vacationing to this little slice of paradise in the summer.
Our days, although now a little different with a baby, are packed full (mainly so Nick can cover all his favorites in one weekend). Here’s what our days looked like this year:
– 8am –
Our days start early! So mornings usually involve grabbing breakfast at Great Southern Cafe and stopping by Modica Market for a mimosa roadie to stroll the neighborhood #vacation. This involves house
hunting dreaming and numerous Zillow searches.
– 10am –
Next up: the beach! Posting up in the sand looks a lot different with an infant. Luckily, we brought this baby pool to keep Jack entertained under the umbrella. He loved it! It kept him cool and out of the sand. Not to mention fully occupied #happymom

You guessed it, back to the beach!
